Clerical employees protest, seek removal of pay anomalies

JAMMU: On the call of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association, the clerical cadre of J and K State on Thursday held a strike across the State.
In all the districts headquarter of Jammu Province, the clerical cadre from different departments gathered and held demonstrations in protest against non-implementation of Pay Anomaly Committee Report constituted vide order No.67-GAD of 2012 dated 16th January 2012 regarding removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre of 5th Pay Commission.
While addressing the gatherings at different office complexes, Bharat Bushan, Khurshid Ahmad Dewani, Ashok Singh, Javed Akhoon, Yash Paul Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Jaswant Singh, Ansuya Gupta, Seva Ram Rathore, Munish Sharma, Vishwa Bandhu, Farida Bano, Vikas Chander, Mohd Lateef, Vikas Sharma, Mukhtyar Singh, Bharat Bushan Kotwal, Mohd Sadiq, Arun Sharma, Lekh Raj, Naresh Sharma, Om Prakash, Kapil Gupta, Uday Singh Pathania, Sandeep Singh, Shamsher Singh, Ranbir Singh, Darshan Angurana, Sham Lal, Sudershan Singh, Ali Mohd, Mangal Singh, Rafiq Mohd, Mohd Yaqoob Bhat, Feezo Jawahar Bashir, Vipan Bangroo, Mohan Lal, Sanjeev Singh Jamwal condemned the callous attitude of the State Government towards the clerical cadre with regard to genuine demand which stands already agreed by the State Government vide various agreements carried out between Association and the cabinet sub-committee of the State Government.
At Press Club, Jammu thousands of employees gathered in the form of mass rally. Addressing the gathering Babu Hussain Malik appealed to all the clerical cadre employees and other employees of State Government offices to come on a common platform to show their solidarity with the clerical cadre who are fighting tooth and nail to get the matter of removal of pay anomalies settled once for all and to take the struggle to its logical end. In District Headquarters, the protest Dharnas were held in front of respective District Development Commissioner’s Office and memorandum regarding removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre were submitted to the concerned District Development Commissioners led by Mohd Issac in Doda, Manjoor Ahmad in Kishtwar, Babu Ram in Rajouri, Rajesh Ajnabi in Reasi, Kuldeep Kumar in Kathua, Ravinder Singh in Poonch, Balwan Singh in Samba, Mohd Aslam Parray in Ramban, Ashok Vir Singh in Udhampur, Tashi Choswal in Leh and Mukhtiar Khan in Kargil.
The main demand of the clerical cadre at this moment is removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre by giving Grade of 4000-6000 to Junior Assistant and 4500-7000 to Senior Assistant and 5500-9000 to Head Assistant and Junior Stenographers notionally w.e.f 01-01-1996 and monetarily w.e.f 19-02-2003.
The other demands of the employees include DPC in all the departments after every six months and reorganization of the clerical cadre, implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, increase of Medical Allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 2000 eyc.
Babu Hussian Malik made an appeal to all the clerical cadre and others to observe complete pen down strike and Secretariat Gherao on 8th , 9th and 10th December, 2016 to press the government for removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre.
