Clashes rock Bemina as family demands body

SRINAGAR: Clashes erupted on Tuesday outside the family home of Bemina youth killed in Kud shooting yesterday with the family members and locals demanding his body.
His elder brother Arshid Sultan said that Tanveer Hussain was a militant until 2004 when he was arrested.
“He was a psychiatric patient and had been getting treatment outside the state,” he said.
Witnesses said that youth took to streets demanding the body of the deceased who government said was a militant and died in an exchange of gunfire with police and paramilitary forces in Kud area of Udhampur district yesterday. Police used teargas shells to disperse the protesters who were throwing rocks on them. The clashes continued till evening.
