Civil Military Liaison Conference held

BATOTE: A Civil Military Liaison Conference (CMLC) was held at Batote, the Headquarters of Delta Force on Friday , to take stock of the prevailing security situation in the districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban in Chenab Valley for the upcoming Assembly Elections. The CMLC was aimed at developing synergy and better coordination between the civil administration and the army.
The meeting was chaired by the General Officer Commanding, Delta Force and was attended by the Officials of Civil Administration of the three districts and Jammu and Kashmir Police to include DIG (Police) Batote, DC Doda, Senior Superintendent of Police of the three districts, SSP Traffic National Highway 44, Commandant of CRPF battalions and other officials of intelligence agencies of IB, CID and SIB.
Joint strategy including contingency plans was discussed in detail between all the agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region and ensure incident free forth-coming Assembly elections. Issues pertaining to sharing of intelligence, requirement to keep the National Highways 44 and 244 open at all times by effective reaction during landslides or other blockages and establishment of joint control rooms were also discussed.
The General Officer Commanding, Delta Force appreciated joint efforts and high levels of synergy in operations exhibited by all agencies in recent times, which has ensured normalcy in Chenab Valley leading to a conducive environment in which these elections were being held.
He encouraged everyone to overcome contemporary challenges and work towards enhancing confidence amongst the people. He further emphasised the requirement to be vigilant, alive and responsive to the developing situation and maintain peace and ensure a peaceful and conducive environment. He highlighted that Rashtriya Rifles deployed in Chenab Valley have been proactively and aggressively dominating the higher reaches thereby assuring a peaceful and secure environment in the area. The army was prepared to face any challenge that may emerge in future and thwart any evil designs of inimical agents.
The civil administration appreciated the army’s pivotal role in bringing normalcy in Chenab Valley and reassured synergy and coordination for application of all resources towards ensuring incident free elections.
