JAMMU: The Department of Civil Engineering-B on Saturday qualified for the semifinals of the Inter-Department Cricket Tournament of IECS Polytechnic being held at the main campus of the institution in Purkhoo Camp area, here.
In the quarterfinals, Civil-B defeated Department of Mechanical Engineering. Earlier, in the preliminary rounds of this limited overs tournament, Civil-B outplayed their counterparts from the same department, representing Civil-A.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Principal of the ICES Polytechnic, K.G Gupta, who exhorted the student to take active part in game along with their studies.
Others present were Dean Administration, Ajay Jamwal, Amit Sharma, H.N Bhat and Sonia Kohli.
