Citizen Council demands up-gradation of transformer

STATE TIMES NEWS
R S PURA: President Citizens Welfare and Development Council (CWDC) R. K Sharma said that keeping in view the insufficient existing power supply to cater for the domestic need of huge population use as well as the commercial installations in Miransahib area, a DPR to the tune of Rs 288.47 lakh was sanctioned in May 2017 to provide three 10 MVA transformers. It is a matter of great surprise that instead of three transformers of 10 MVA capacity only one transformer has been installed by the Executive Engineer Sub Transmission Division II, at Miransahib which is not able to meet the existing need of power in the area whereas such augmentation had to cater for the future needs also.
Sharma said that the case for the augmentation of power supply was initiated as back as 2013 and after great efforts the Techno Economic Clearance was obtained for the amount of Rs 288.79 lakh but the purpose remained unsolved and the people continued to suffer as hither-to-fore. Sharma appealed to the Chief Engineer Elect and Maintenance RE Wing Jammu to issue suitable instructions for the installation additional two transformers of 10 MVA capacity.
