JAMMU: In the continuous endeavour of building a sustainable eco-system for startups, CII proposed the setting up of incubation centers in the upcoming IIT Jammu and Udyog Bhawan premises to Rajinder Singh Tara, Director Industries, Jammu.
“Incubation centers can help in motivating students and aspiring entrepreneurs to convert their innovative business ideas into a well-shaped business venture with minimum resources. These incubation centers will provide all the required resources and support, including mentorship, funding support, infrastructure support to the students to become entrepreneurs.
CII has played a pivotal role in building startup eco-system in many states. In J and K also, we can provide all kind of support to the budding entrepreneurs. A struggling entrepreneur can also take benefit from these centers.” shared Shiekh Imran, Chairman, CII J&K State Council.
Institutes and universities are now more concerned about creating job creators, rather than job seekers. Reputed institutes all over the country, in various states, have been working as incubation centers for not only nurturing quality education, but also endeavouring to transform this quality education into a business reality, paving ways to industrialisation and economic development.
“Udyog Bhawan is a state of art building for such an initiative. Under the leadership of Industries Minister and Tara, I am hopeful this initiative will be a game changer for our State. We have been voicing our strong support for startups and are very happy to see this encouraging support from the Industries Department. Central University, Jammu and SMVDU already have incubators in their buildings, however the industry connect and the promotion of these incubators are still required at the higher level. With government’s interest and industry’s support from CII, this initiative will pave way for many generations to come” added Rahul Sahai, Vice Chairman, CII J and K State Council.
