CII proposes devising special taskforce for improving business ranking of J&K

JAMMU: Jammu and Kash-mir has been categorized among the lowest performing Indian states for doing business in the list of 32 states of the country. It is positioned at 31st rank with 0.30% score. Highly concerned about this, CII Industry members urged State Government to immediately form a special taskforce for enacting the ease of doing business reform for industry in the State. Although the State Government has put forward its sincere efforts for the elevation of the State by enhancing the conditions to do business in the state, it lacks behind on the ease of doing business ranking index published by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), they said. Sheikh Imran, Chairman, CII J and K State Council said, “The State of J&K has the potential to enhance its position in the list of ease of doing business. Though the manufacturing and services sector is small but is growing rapidly. ”
Rahul Sahai, who is currently serving CII J&K State Council as the Vice Chairman, stated “CII treads on the heels of holistic approach. It has not only helped the state for its industrial growth but also taken into consideration various other aspects for the elevation of the state. We talk to various industrialists from other states and countries, they are very interested and willing to start their industries in our state. We just need to show the real positive and developing picture of our state to them.”
