JAMMU: Churchill Brothers and Jammu United registered wins in their opening matches in the District Level Football Tournament, organised by Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) at Parade Ground, here on Sunday.
In the opening match, Churchill Brothers slashed The Climrates by two goals to nil. In another match, Jammu United won over Christian Star by two goals to one.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by the Chief Guest, S.D Singh Jamwal, Inspector General Police, Jammu who was welcomed by Vijay Singh Jamwal, Commandant 66 Bn SSB Jammu. DIG, SSB Jammu, Manavendra Negi presented memento to the Chief Guest.
“SSB has taken this initiative to provide a platform to the young football players of J and K to display their sporting skills and techniques,” Negi said adding that it will also encourage other football lovers to explore their potential in the game.
