JAMMU: Various educational institutions celebrated Christmas with religious fervour and gaiety on Wednesday.
Shiksha Niketan celebrated birth of Jesus Christ. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal Rameshwar Mengi along with the Principal of RM College and Incharges of respective wings.
Students of Class XI and XII presented Jhankis depicting various facets of Christ’s birth and singing of carols. On the occasion students took oath against bad habits as their New Year resolution.
Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Greater Kailash, celebrated the festivities with Christmas trees decorated with stars and balloons. Students enacted a skit marking the birth of Jesus Christ. The Nativity scene showed infant Jesus, his mother Mary and Joseph. Other characters such as shepherds, sheep and angels were also portrayed. Students also sang Christmas carols. Students of Class LKG and UKG presented dances and songs on the occasion. The Principal Meera Soni and Vice Principal S. Malhotra wished Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to one and all.
SM Jain Higher Secondary School Jammu celebrated Christmas with fervour. The kids of Pre-Nursey, Nursery, LKG and UKG presented jingles, dances and choruses. Various characters like Santa, Mother Mary and Angels were also presented by the school’s little stars. Later they visited the Garrison Church, lighted candles and held prayers.
Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated Christmas with great zeal. The children presented an impressive array of pragrammes including the Nativity scene depicting the birth of Christ was presented amidst carol singing. The pre- primary classes added gaiety and the roller skaters displayed their skills. The appearance of the beaming Santa Claus at the end lent cheers to the entire scene. The students of pre-Primary Block also presented a group song.
Additional Director Dr. D. Joseph not only congratulated the students and staff but also highlighted the importance of the festival. She said that Christmas is a spirit of giving, sharing and bringing joy to the people who are in need.
Headmistress DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress up to Middle Block, Meenu Gupta and administrative staff of the school were also present on the auspicious occasion.
President Rajput Charitable Trust Jammu, M K Ajatshatru Singh, Pro Vice Chairperson, Kunwarani Ritu Singh Delhi and Director, S. S. Sodhi also extended their blessings and greetings to the students and their families on the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
Poonam Chattoo anchored the event while Poonam Sharma presented a vote of thanks.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School celebrated Christmas. All the students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students recited poems and deliver lecture on Christmas day.
Chairman of the School, Prof. Harbans Singh spoke on the life of Jesus Christ and greeted Happy Christmas to the students. Vote of thanks was delivered by the Administrator of the school.
Christmas and New Year was celebrated at Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana with great zeal and enthusiasm which began with a special assembly presided by Ruchi Charak, Trustee and Sukhvarsha Mehta (Principal).
Students of the kindergarten and primary wing came dressed as fairies and Santas. Christmas carols echoed school environment. The children also took part in number of games and danced on foot tapping music and looked forward to the New Year with new resolutions and fresh spirits. Celebrations culminated with good wishes to the students for New Year from Ruchi Charak.
Chenab College of Education presented programmes to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus. Students showcased the Nativity play followed by the choir group singing Christmas carols in praise of the Lord.
Students also enjoyed themselves by participating in number of cultural activities. A cake cutting ceremony took place and enjoyed the gifts given by the ‘Santa’ made their day.
Students were given glimpses from the life of Jesus and his teachings were enumerated by the Principal Kamal Deep Kour.
To spread the message of peace and brotherhood of Jesus Christ, the Crescent Public School wore a festive look and celebrated Merry Christmas in the school premises. Students highlighted the significance of Merry Christmas and life of Jesus Christ through songs of blessings, a play and a grand party (the feast of Christ)The whole Crescent family took part on this auspicious day.
Managing Director Tasneem Choudhary prayed and gave message of peace, love and humanity that is the only alternative to eliminate evils from the globe. The program end with a candle lightning procession for the peace of souls to those children who were killed in a recent terrorist attack in Army Public School, Peshawar, Pakistan.
Sports Day of kindergarten was held today in the premises of Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School with gaiety. The students won many prizes in frog race, net crossing, bursting the balloons, musical chairs etc.
Students of primary and secondary wing celebrated Christmas and New Year with enthusiasm. Attired in Santa Claus dress, students presented various cultural programmes which enthralled the audience.
Chairman Subhash Chander Suri advised students to keep them physically fit. He also wished that the coming New Year may bring new enlighten to them so that they become good and useful citizens of the soil.
Students and staff members of Happy Hours School, Rehari Colony celebrated Christmas and New Year in a colourful and impressive way. The students presented Christmas Carole and depicted message of Lord Jesus.
Principal of the School, Poonam Gupta blessed everyone on the beautiful occasion. She educated the students on the teachings of Jesus Christ in the practical life.
In the end, a cake cutting ceremony was held in which students cut the cake and distributed among all the present on the occasion.
Christmas Day celebration held at Flower Kids Nursery School, Talab Tillo. Children celebrated Christmas Day with joy and happiness and prayed for peace and prosperity in whole world.
The celebration began with a special assembly, where Principal Vijay Lakshmi enlightened the students and staff about Christmas day. This was followed by an endearing performance by a group of tiny tots who were attired as Santa Claus and fairies. Staff and students decorated the school with artificial snow, X-Mas Tree and twinkling lights depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Parents were also invited to accompany the celebrations.
Sanatan Dharam Kanya Vidyalaya (SDKV) Jullaka Mohalla Jammu celebrated Christmas in the school premises with religious fervour and gaiety, here today.
Secretary, Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Bal Krishan Arora was the on the occasion. The students presented a colourful cultural programme under the supervision of staff members which enthralled the audience.
Wishing happy Christmas and New Year, Bal Krishan Arora extended his blessings to the students and also distributed tricycles among them. He asked the students to spread message of love, kindness and brotherhood everywhere.
Christmas Eve was celebrated with great fervour and zeal at 166 Military Hospital (MH) Satwari, today.
Zonal Vice President AWWA White Knight Corps, Rita Guha visited MH and celebrated Christmas with children, patients, attendants and staff. She was flanked by Sushma Harjai, Convener Family Welfare Centre of 166 Military Hospital and Brig Man Mohan Harjai, Commandant, 166 MH.
She appreciated the Christmas decorations of the Pediatric Ward and as a good will gesture distributed sweets and gifts to the children. She visited all the family wards and had full praises for the clientele satisfaction due to comprehensive health care provided by this prestigious hospital whose motto is “Care with Compassion”.
She also emphasized to the mothers of the sick babies of the need of exclusive breast feeding, uninterrupted vaccination and scheduled follow up.
While interacting with medical and paramedical staff, she encouraged them to continue their hard work and motivated them to keep up the standard of health care being provided to the patients. She also stressed that the soft skills to be exercised regularly to make patients at ease, relaxed, happy, calm and comfortable.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School and its affiliated unit JK Little Millennium Pre-school, Talab Tillo celebrated Christmas today with religious fervour and gaiety.
Students were dressed in colourful costumes depicting the roles of Fairy and Santa and also participated in fancy dress contest.
Teachers enlightened the students about significance of the day in morning assembly and showed the movie of Santa.
The students participated in Dance Damahka contest from all classes participated in this contest. The best performer and challenge chaser was also awarded.
The management of the school gifted ‘Bells’ to every students as token of love for the festival.
Director Academics Rajni Gupta thanked the parents and staff for their active participation and blessed the kids for their contribution for the event. Later on toffees were distributed among the students.
