Dear Editor,
Even in the face of China blocking India’s bid to acquire membership of the Nuclear Suppliers Group, there is some consolation that the U.S. has recognised that India meets missile technology control regime requirements and is ready to be a part of the exclusive club. If China feels that India not signing the Non-Proliferation Treaty is a sticking point, it must be remember that Pakistan, Israel and South Sudan haven’t too. How can China relax the condition of signing the NPT if Pakistan is allowed to be a part of NSG? It is odd to link India’s membership to Pakistan. India is seeking membership on its merits.
