JAMMU: On the occasion of traditional Dogri festival of Jammu region which is popularly called as “Tamdeh”, Kranti Dal activists organized a ‘chhabeel’ and a Bhandra at Roopnagar led by State President Pritam Sharma, Youth President Pt. Ravi Sharma, on Monday, where people were offered sweetened water.
“In peak summers, the event coincides with the ‘Temdeh’. The concept is to offer the sweetened drink to people who are moving in the scorching heat,” he added.
“Motorists and others get a lot of relief after taking it. This is a very good tradition. Even the younger generation feels happy to help out in this activity,” he added.
Meanwhile Social worker Puran Chand Khajuria donated Water Cooler to Lower Roop Nagar in the memory of his father Late Sh. Bansi Lal Khajuria.
Others who took part in the ‘chhabeel’ include Mohit Sharma, R.K Sharma, Sham Lal Mehra and Vicky Sharma.
Meanwhile, Rajeev Charak, State Convener Training Cell BJP, Ajay Pargal Gupta State General Secretary BJP Youth, Ishant Gupta District President BJP Youth and Ankush Gupta State Executive Member BJP Youth took part in the chhabeel organized by Nitin Gupta at Fruit Mandi Narwal.
Others present were Vinod Shavotra, Satinder Singh, Karan Singh, Darshan Kumar, Ch. Sanjay, Ch. Rakesh, Kailash Singh, Ch. Kala, Ch. Sanju, Rajan and Rajesh.
