Chennai registers 9-wkt win over Gujarat in Gufran T20

DODA: Chennai registered enthralling win over Gujarat by nine wickets in the ongoing All India 11th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2015 played at Sports Stadium Doda.

Earlier after winning the toss, Gujarat elected to bat and set a target of 69 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 14.5 overs. Raja Ali was the highest scorer with 18 runs while Pankaj contributed 14 runs. For Chennai, Kishore clinched three wickets while Shahrukh took two.

In reply, Chennai team chased the target in just 5.3 overs for the loss of one wicket. Shubash played a brilliant match winning inning of 55 runs while Darvesh contributed six runs. For Gujarat, Raja Ali took one wicket. Shubash of Chennai was declared as Man of the Match for his best batting performance.

In another match between Pirates of Chittagong (POC) Bangladesh and Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Thathri was abandoned due to bad weather.

Batting first, POC Bangladesh scored 53 runs for the loss of three wickets in seven overs. Later on the match was abandoned due to bad weather. Keeping in view the bad weather, 1-1 point was shared among both the teams.

Mohi-ud-Din Rubel scored 16 runs while Arman Ullah contributed 14 runs for the POC Bangladesh. For FCC Thathri, Shabir took two wickets while Ashfaq picked one.

The match was officiated by Arif-ur-Rehman from Bangladesh and Sanjay Chouhan as Umpires whereas Salinder Singh Bhaduria acted as Scorer.
