Dear Editor,
It is surprising how the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) gave Agmark/FPO certification to Maggi for many years. Why does the government allow food manufacturers to sell unsafe products? What about the Rehriwalas selling locally made noodles prepared in most unhygienic conditions? Restaurants, hotels, Dhabas, Rehris and households use Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) to add flavour. Many ready-to-eat products use MSG. The regulatory authorities should check all other ready-to-eat products available in the market besides Maggi.
