RAMBAN: Chareel Banihal XI won the inaugural match of the T-20 Cricket Tournament being organised by District Police Ramban under Civic Action Programme at District Police Line ground, here on Monday.
In the opening match, Chareel Banihal outplayed Kingfisher Ramban by 110 runs.
Batting first, Chareel Banihal with the help of Rouf Mir’s 52 runs off 19 balls set a target of 182 runs which in reply Kingfisher Ramban failed to chase and made only 92 runs.
A Total of 14 teams drawn from the different sub division of district Ramban are participating in the tournament
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar, who advised the youth to give their best to the development of district and devote towards studies and sports.
He also urged them to help police to eradicate the menace of drugs in the society.
Prominent persons present in the opening ceremony include Addl. SP Ramban Mushtaq Choudhary, Dy.SP Ops Gool Vipan Chandran, Inspector Mohd Afzal Wani and Jahangir Katoch.
