Chairman AIIMS CC rejects CM’s invitation for talks

 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Saying that he has rejected the Chief Minister’s invite for a meeting of civil society on 13th June, AIIMS Coordination Committee (CC) Chairman and President JKHCBA Advocate Abhinav Sharma on Thursday reiterated that he would meet him only if all the members of the Coordination Committee are invited.
“The matter is very sensitive and it needs to be discussed and clinched in the presence of members of Coordination Committee who have been working day and night for the success of ongoing mass movement in Jammu region on the issue”, he said.
He also dismissed the claims of BJP Ministers that AIIMS will be first established in Jammu and stated that the chain hunger strike will start on 12th June, 2015 near the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh, Tawi.
“Members belonging to more than 100 non-political organisations will be sitting on the proposed hunger strike every day”, he said adding that the hunger strike as announced earlier will be followed by some radical action, including Dharnas in front of the ministers’ houses as well as their Gherao. The AIIMS CC will see to it that those who cheated the people of Jammu Province by shifting the promised AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir and shelving the Tawi artificial lake project could not venture out of their houses.
The AIIMS coordination Committee is committed to achieving its stated goals at whatever cost, said Abhinav Sharma, adding that the authorities are committing a serious mistake by testing the patience of Jammuites who are already alienated.
He also said that the members of the coordination committee will meet on 13th June at 11:00 AM, at Bar Room of JKHCBA, Janipur to chalk out the future course of action which will go side by side with the chain hunger strike. He expressed satisfaction over the overwhelming response AIIMS Coordination Committee has been getting from the people cutting across the party lines from across Jammu Province, he said and added that he would soon send more teams to different Districts to mobilize public opinion against the anti Jammu elements in and outside the establishment.
Abhinav Sharma said that AIIMS CC has already covered Kathua and Samba Districts, and a number of other members have fanned out across the region for educating the public about the circumstances under which the sanctioned AIIMS was snatched from Jammu and shifted to Kashmir. He also thanked teachers of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SKUAST, Jammu), who other day extended their full support to the ongoing movement in Jammu for establishment of AIIMS.
