UDHAMPUR: Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation on Wednesday organised one day training programme on the topic ‘Water Budgeting and Management programme’. Chief Planning Officer Udhampur, Ashok Khajuria was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
On the occasion, Jitesh Tatiwal who is also the Nodal Officer and Scientist of Central Ground Water Board, Jammu highlighted the overall scenario of J&K state and enumerates the scientific techniques to be adopted to protect ground water resources of the state.
Addressing the gathering, CPO Ashok Khajuria emphasized upon the budgeting and management of water, saving it for future and make rain water harvesting tanks in the gardens. He also desired that the participants should transmit the information gathered today in the training session to make a chain for this noble cause.
Scientist Dr P G Jose gave detailed presentation related to Central Ground Water Board and also delivered a lecture on the topic. He said that the aim and objective of organizing this programme is to impart training to teachers, engineers, anganwadi workers, besides block and district level officials regarding water management and to generate awareness among the common masses about the responsibility of overall management and monitoring of ground water.
During the training programme, field demonstration and technical interaction with trainees where in all the water problems and issues in their respective areas were discussed and the remedial measures to be taken discussed in detail. Later, certificates among the trainees were also distributed. Assistant Director Planning, Darshan Kumar Sharma, other concerned officers and trainees were present on the occasion.
