JAMMU: Continuing with its new initiatives, the Central Govt. Pensioners’ Welfare Association, Jammu (CGPWA) today organised an interaction with inmates of BALFRAN, charitable Home for Destitute children, at its premises at Channi Rama.
First of its kind, J K Vaid, former Director, GSI and Life Member of both CGPWA & BALGRAN, held the interaction which was attended by 115 inmates of the Home.
In a free-wheel interaction, Vaid talked about inculcating disciple, vital for developing a holistic personality, acquiring skills, and choosing right career. He explained various opportunities that would be unfolding before them and they have to make a choice best suited for them. Coming with the background of Geological Survey of India, Vaid explained that it related to the science of Geology and investigation of mineral resources of the country.
The students of the tenth class were asked about their dreams and careers. While three of them wanted to be teacher to spread education to areas where quality education has not yet reached; two wanted to be Doctor to give healing touch to the suffering humanity; one girl from Doda wanted to join the Indian Air Force as she wanted to go beyond the clouds and see the nature while defending India’s borders. One boy wanted to be a classic musician as he wanted to preserve the culture and roots of Bharat. He even sung a beautiful bhajan on SHREE RAM and all present joined him in the concluding lines SIA RAM, SIA RAM. One student wanted to be a cricketer. Every one of them spoke about serving the nation in their own way.
Advising them to start taking steps towards realization of their dreams, they were also asked to acquire good moral values and be a good human being which is an essential tenet for everyone. Defeating the design of enemies of India they were sensitized against falling in the trap of anti-social and anti-India elements to ensure the country’s integrity and progress.
The General Secretary of CGPWA K B Jandial, Secretary BALGRAN V K Raina and Treasurer Dr. Shashikant Goswami also spoke on the occasion.
Vaid’s grandchildren presented Diwali gifts to the children and interacted with them.
The inmates liked the interaction.
