JAMMU: National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) on Monday qualified for the final of badminton event beating Survey of India 2-1 in the quarterfinals played on the opening day of the annual sports meet of Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) at IIIM Indoor Hall, here. In quarterfinals, played on Monday, IIIM beat Central Water Commission (CWC) 2-0 while Survey of India defeated Telecommunication 2-0. The NSSO got bye.
Earlier, the annual competition was declared open by Deputy Accountant General (Audit), V.K Bakshi, who was Chief Guest. Chief Scientist IIIM, Rajneesh Anand was Guest of Honour.
The Organising Committee included Sham Lal (Chairman), Dr Ajay Prakash Gupta (IIIM), Dr Zabee Ahmad (IIIM), Neeraj Kaul (Telecommunication), Vimarsh Kaw (AG office), Anoop Magotra (AG Office), Mahesh Sharma (NSSO), Ammanullah Raj (Telecommunication) and Desh Kumar Sharma (SOI).
The participating teams in this sports meet are AG Office, IIIM, Survey of India, NSSO, Central Water Commission, Telecommunication and Doordarshan.
