Certificates distributed among candidates under SJSRY scheme


KATHUA : Project Officer District Urban development Agency(DUDA) Kathua Jaffar Abass Batt on Monday distributed certificate and tool kits among 35 beneficiaries under skill development training programme sponsored under SJSRY scheme in electrician and beauty culture trade to beneficiaries at Hiranagar,Kathua. The programme has been organised by District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) Kathua.
Speaking on this occasion Project Officer,DUDA, Kathua Jaffar Abass highlighted importance of skill development training programmes through which unemployed youths can generate self employment ventures. He said that “it is the need of hour that the beneficiaries especially belonging to BPL category should learn different skills and take part in economic development activities of State. Jaffar Abass highlighted the importance of various scheme being implemented by District Urban Development Agency Kathua.On this occasion he also asked the youths to step forward and take maximum benefits of trainings and various other benefits of these scheme so that maximum employment can be generated and instead of looking for Govt. Jobs they can setup their own ventures.
Jaffar Abass highlighted the scheme Rajiv Rinn Yojna(RRY) to the needy and poor lunched by Govt.of India under District Urban Dev. Agency in which 5 per cent interest subsidy per annum will be borne by the department and financed by the banker and housing finance corporation. The scheme provides financial assistance/home loan to Economically Weaker Section(EWS) income up to Rs 1 lakh and Lower Income Group(LIG) income up to Rs 2 lakh in urban areas for acquisition/ construction of houses to such beneficiary, who don’t have house in his/her name or in the name of his /her spouse or any dependent child.
Executive Officer Municipal Committee Hiranagar also explained various schemes undertaken by the department for the benefit of youths so that they can earn their living. He also appreciated the role of DUDA for imparting training to the poor and unemployed youth of the urban areas.
Suraj Parkash of the training institute apprised about various schemes started by the agency especially the youth to establish their own income generating units. He also shared the details of candidates who are working or who have already started small units in Hiranagar and are now earning.
