CEO HelpAge India calls on LG Mathur, apprises of ongoing projects in Ladakh for benefit of elderly

LEH: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HelpAge India, Rohit Prasad and Mission Head, Dr Imtiaz Ahmed, called on the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, RK Mathur, in New Delhi on Thursday.
CEO HelpAge India Rohit informed about their various ongoing projects and works for the benefit of the elderly in Ladakh.
They discussed universal coverage of social security schemes to all the elderly persons; state policy for older persons; long-term care (LTC)/Home care programme for the elderly on policy level by the state government; value education to school-going children and providing training to family caregivers of the elderly under the inter-generational programme and implementation of National Programme for Health Care of the Elderly (NPHCE) as a part of the strengthening of the health care system.
LG Mathur appreciated HelpAge India for their work for elderly persons.
Another delegation from the Embassy of Iceland led by the Ambassador of Iceland to India, Gudni Bragason met LG Mathur and congratulated on the commencement of the first geothermal project in India at Puga in collaboration with Iceland GeoSurvey (ISOR) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC).
