NOWSHERA: A rally was held on Sunday at Bareri (Nowshera) in which thousands of PoK Displaced persons from different villages and blocks participated and castigated the brutal behaviour of both Centre and State Governments. The rally which was held under the banner of SOS International – An Organisation for PoK Displaced Persons (DPs), under the chairmanship of its Chairman, Rajiv Chuni discussed every new development on the part of government.
While speaking on the occasion, Chuni said that there is utmost need of getting united to give their struggle more impetus and show their strength to both the Government in Central and State.SOS International Chairman stated that now Central Government has followed the footsteps of State Government that has been deceiving us for the last seven decades. “The real faces of both Centre and State Governments have been unveiled as they both seem same aspect of same coin. It was before Modi led Central Government’s formation; the State Cabinet approved a rehabilitation package for PoK DPs and sent to centre for its implementation. The said approval merely required the nod of Central Government for its implementation but it deliberately put it in cold storage. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is not acquainted with the gloom and misery of people who were forced to leave their native places in 1947.
SOS International Chairman made a fervent appeal to the community to gather under the umbrella of SOS International to launch a “do or die” battle in order to get justice to their demands.
Lalit Kumar conducted stage proceedings. Others who also spoke were Master Bodh Raj, D.N Raina, Bachan Lal, Sub. Kasturi Lal, Capt. Shiv Ram, Capt. SN Randhawa, O.P Khajuria, Pt. Lekh Raj, Pt. Narinder Sharma, Roshan Lal, Sharda Devi, Tarvinder Singh, VK Dutta, Tilak Raj and Sanjay Kohli.
