JAMMU: The President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Rakesh Gupta alongwith his office bearers expressed heartfelt condolences on the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Gupta said, “Mufti has left us at a very crucial juncture where the people of the State needed him the most.”
He said that it’s not easy to find a replacement of a person like the stature of Mufti as he was a person with strong determination, vision and had the ability to take tough decisions in this torn and conflict zone State.
Talking to reporters, CCI President appreciated the timely action of the PDP and unanimously reposing faith in the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti by a communication to N.N Vohra, The Governor of the State.
The chamber extended full support to Mehbooba Mufti and wished her all the very best in taking over the reign of the State.
“It will take time for Mehbooba to act without the guidance of her father, but we are sure that with her vast experience staying in politics and learning from her father as also being in touch with cross sections of society it will not take long for her to streamline and take urgent necessary measures to keep away the destructive forces from disturbing the hard earned peace in the State,” he said.
CCI President also appreciated the stand of the BJP in supporting the internal decision of PDP to unanimously choose Mehbooba Mufti as the next Chief Minister.
The other office bearers present in the press conference include Sham Lal Langer Senior Vice President, Deepak Aggarwal Junior Vice President, Rahul Mahajan Secretary and Ashu Gupta Treasurer.
