JAMMU: President Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Rakesh Gupta on Saturday met Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh and highlighted various burning issues being faced by the trade and industry.
Gupta brought to the notice of the Deputy Chief Minister the major demands like amnesty on power bills of the closed units which have not consumed power, faults in the procurement procedure followed by the PDD especially ignoring purchase preference to the local industry violating cabinet decision, finalisation of master plan keeping in view the present scenario allowing multi-storey buildings throughout Jammu city and fast tracking construction of multi-storey parking, acquiring and creating multi-storey parking at Residency Road, pending issues with the Jammu Development Authority finalization of housing policy and also to check the owners and carriers of Reharis and demanded that there should be proper identification cards hanging around the necks of such carriers.
The Deputy Chief Minister heard all the demands patiently and assured necessary positive action and also consented to visit Chamber House on the request of the President shortly to have further discussions on the issues.
