JAMMU: Arun Gupta, President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, extended his heartfelt gratitude and admiration to Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, for approving the crucial Lakhanpur-Doda National Highway project and the construction of the Chhatergala Tunnel linking Lakhanpur with Doda. He also credited Dr. Jitendra Singh, MOS in the Prime Minister’s Office, for his unwavering efforts in making this significant project a reality.
Gupta highlighted that the completion of this highway will ensure all-weather connectivity between Lakhanpur and Doda district, significantly reducing travel time.
He emphasized that this infrastructure development will stimulate business activities, boost revenue generation, create employment opportunities, and bolster tourism in the region.
Pointing out the scenic and culturally rich areas along the route, Gupta underscored the tourist potential of Billawar, Basohli, Bani, Bhaderwah, and Sarthal.
These areas are renowned for their picturesque landscapes, favorable climate, and significant pilgrimage sites such as Maa Sukrala Mandir, Sheetla Mata Mandir, and Shakti Mata Mandir.
Gupta emphasized the need for proactive involvement of the tourism department to promote these pilgrimage sites and tourist destinations effectively.
He urged the government to collaborate with interested parties to develop essential infrastructure like hotels, ensuring comfortable facilities for tourists and pilgrims visiting the area.
