JAMMU: Special Judge CBI Cases Jammu Bala Joyti framed charges against Bhuri Singh ASI who was caught red-handed by the CBI while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000/-. ASI was arrested by CBI team on the complaint of a transporter namely Devinder Singh, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. ASI demanded a bribe for releasing the seized truck of the complaint despite court order. Special Judge CBI Cases Jammu Bala Joyti after hearing both the sides observed that on 26.11.2021 while Bhuri Singh was posted as ASI of J&K Police, Police Station Kathua who made an illegal demand of bribe/undue advantage of Rs. 5000/- from the complainant Davinder Singh.
On the basis of complaint a trap was laid in the Police Station Kathua and the ASI Bhuri Singh was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 5,000/- from the complainant. In this way he committed an offence under section 7 of the P. C. Act 1988 and charges framed.
