JAMMU: Crime Branch (CB) on Monday filed five charge-sheets in courts of law against eighteen accused for different frauds involving aggregate amount of Rs 8.79 crores approx.
After allegations were proved, official said, CB has produced Challan against Mohd Farid, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Village Maroli Govindsar, Kathua, against whom FIR was registered on the written complaint of Shokat Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Bani, District Kathua wherein he alleged that accused Mohd Farid got government job and promotions on fake educational documents and retired as Deputy Inspector in Fisheries Department Kathua.
“In another case registered on a written complaint lodged by Yash Pal of Rajouri regarding fraud on the pretext of winning lottery, Crime Branch has been produced Challan against four persons namely Santosh Kumar Patel, son of Sunder Lal Patel, resident of Maihar, Distt. Satna MP, Suman Swarashti, daughter of Babu Lal, resident of Govindpur, MP, Suneel Kumar Patel, son of Panna Lal Patel, resident of Dharampura, Girwara, MP and Malkeet Singh, son of Jagir Singh, resident of Ninjaj, West Bengal,” official added.
Challan has also been produced in the case registered on a written complaint of Anwar Ali, resident of Bilaspur wherein he alleged that he had been duped of Rs. 2.06 lakh by fraudsters on the pretext of winning lottery, official said adding that the accused are Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, son of Rambahal Parjapati, resident of Banahara District Jaunpur (UP), Imran Khan Sarfrazkhan Pathan, son of Sarfrazkhan, resident of Rakhiyal, Distt. Ahmedabad (UP), Pawan Kumar Singh, resident of Jhansi, Allahabad (UP), Aijaz Ahmed, son of Nawab, resident of Handiya Sarapataha, Distt. Sultanpur (UP), Mohd. Shadab Khan, son of Naser Khan, resident of Janagipur, UPm Imran Khan, son of Ayoub Khan, resident of Sundram Nagar Ahmedabad Gujarat, and Firoj Khan, son of Raees Ujjaya, resident of Rasoolabad Musafirkhana, Distt. CSM Nagar.
Crime Branch has also produced Challan against accused namely Mohd. Syed Shah, son of Bhaw-ud-Din Shah, Resident of Budshami Nagar, Natipora, Srinagar at present Dangiwacha Rafiabad, District Baramulla after allegations of duping of huge amount on the pretext of providing government job levelled by complainant Vikas Sharma, son of Kulwant Raj, resident of Sungal Tehsil Akhnoor and others were proved against him, official said.
Chargesheet has also been submitted by Crime Branch in case registered on the complaint of Shivraj Singh Chowdhary (now expired), resident of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu against accused Renu Chowdhary, wife of Chander Udhey Singh, Kunal Choudhary, son of Chander Udhey Sigh Choudhary, Chander Udhey Singh Choudhary, son of late Amarnath Chowdhary, all are resident of Trikuta Nagar, Jammu at present Channi Himmat, Jammu, official added.
Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu Benam Tosh confirmed that Challans of cases FIR No. 27/2013, FIR No. 01/2015, FIR No. 18/2018, FIR No. 47/2019 and FIR No. 03/2025 have been produced in the courts of law for judicial determination.
