Casual labourers, need based workers protest

RAJOURI: A protest of casual labourers, need based workers of PWD (R&B) Department was held on Friday under the banner of PWD (R&B) Casual Labourers , Need Based Workers Union Rajouri raising their demands in one voice regarding formulation of a concrete policy for regularisation of services of casual labourers / need based workers / ITI trained workers, creation of a special head for the purpose of paying regular wages and release of pending wages.
They have focused the attention of Jammu and Kashmir Government towards the burning demand of these workers of PWD who have been working since 1994 and suffering badly due to absence of any concrete policy of the government. Number of casual labourers assembled in PWD (R&B) Complex Rajouri and raised slogans in support of their demands.
While addressing the gathering, the Union President Mohammed Riaz Mughal condemned the delaying policy of the J and K Government regarding the genuine issues of casual labourers, need based, ITI trained workers working in PWD(R&B) Department. Mughal also condemned the delaying tactics of the State Government regarding the genuine issues of the workers as per the agreement. Mughal also reminded about the policy framed for regularisation of their services by the previous government on 9th October, 2014 but could not be implemented due to unknown reasons. Others who addressed the gathering include Abdul Kaleem Bhatti, Shaheen Bhatt, Sonika Sharma, Murtaza Anjum Mir, Riaz Ahmed Dar, Mr Akhilesh Mehta Vikas Sharma and Rajesh Kumar, Naheem Ahmed, Mohd Farooq, Faqir Mohd and Zameer Ahmed.
