JAMMU: Cardiac Diseases Evaluation Camp was organised at Bhalwal here on Sunday.
Around 300 Patients attended the camp. The camp was organised under the supervision of Dr. Sushil K. Sharma Head Department of Cardiology Government Medical College Jammu along with a team of doctors comprising Dr. Nasir Ali, Dr. Mohi Kalsotra, Dr. D Kapoor, Dr. Pooja besides paramedics Kashmiri Lal, Joginder Singh, Laxmi Manhas and volunteers Gourav Sharma, Vicky, Vivek, Karan, Jagdeep, Lokesh and G.L Sharma.
Dr Sharma explained various factors which are utmost important for evaluation of Cardiac Diseases. “Any developing chest pain or shortness of breath, palpitation with associated uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes and obesity should be taken seriously and prompt cardiac evaluation should be sought”, he said adding that this shall go a long way in minimising cardiac events.
A large number of people availed the benefits of this camp where in risk factors like smoking, excessive alcohol intake, hypertension uncontrolled diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, obesity and stressful situations were discussed. Further in this camp, the patients were counselled for maintaining good life style, avoiding smoking and healthy eating habits. Patients attending the camp were given benefit of diagnostic tests like ECG, biochemistry and free medicines were also distributed.
The residents of the area Subash Sharma, Raj Dev Singh, Swarn Singh, Chunni Lal, Balram Singh, Rahul and Krishan Lal Chargotra expressed their gratitude to Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma and his team for organising this camp.
