Cane-charge on Jammu students unwarranted, discriminating: Sham

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Maiming people of Jammu on one pretext or the other by BJP-PDP Government has become the order of the day and brutal cane-charge and teargas shelling on peaceful protesting class 12 students including girls at Rehari Chungi on Saturday evening is another instance of prejudice and discrimination with this region of the State.
This was stated by Senior Vice President of Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Sham Lal Sharma in a statement issued here this evening.
Sham castigated police and local administration for opting gory methods on peaceful protesters including young girls who have gathered at Rehari Chungi BC Road to demand redressal of their genuine grievance regarding changed pattern of 12th class physics question paper which was held on 2nd March 2017.
Questioning the double standards adopted by the BJP-PDP dispensation, he asked the rationale behind giving numerous bounties including compensation and jobs to Kashmiri stone-pelting youths and using brutal force and teargas shells on peaceful young students gathered to seek justice as they were shocked to notice drastic changes in the pattern of physics question paper of their 12th class exams leading to poor performance thus jeopardising their future prospects and career.
Expressing grave concern on Men in Khakhi dragging and beating girls, he said that such a non-professional attitude by the cops shall not be tolerated adding that government should fix the responsibility and initiate strict action against the guilty officials. He urged the Jammuites to get united against State Government whose mere inception is based on hobnobbing between two main divisive allies of the State having staunch belief to divide and rule.
