JAMMU: To provide employment opportunities, Government Polytechnic Jammu conducted a week long campus placement drive for the final semester and pass-out polytechnic students of Jammu Division.
The companies who participated in the drive include Uflex Pvt. Ltd Unit-II, Mahindra and Mahindra (Swaraj Division, Mohali), Ericsson India Pvt Ltd, Sahaj-e Village Pvt Ltd, Multicare Services Pvt Ltd, Rooman Technologies Pvt Ltd and Indian Institute of Skill Development (IISD).
About eleven candidates from mechanical, electrical and instrumentation branch got selected by Uflex Pvt Ltd as Junior Engineer Trainee at the salary of Rs 10,000 per month. Mahindra and Mahindra (Swaraj Division Mohali), selected thirty five candidates of mechanical and automobile. R.B Singh and Irfan Khan from Mahindra and Mahindra conducted the group discussion and interview of selected candidates. The selected students are placed at Mohali Plant of Mahindra and Mahindra as Diploma Apprenticeship Trainer and will be paid Rs. 8,500 as stipend during the training.
The Sahaj-e Village Ltd, selected six students at the package of Rs 1.2 lakh per annum during the training as CCE, back- end office operation and promoters. Multicare Services Pvt Ltd selected fifteen students for three month training at Mumbai and will be paid the stipend as per the norms of Udaan Scheme and after training they will be placed as Assistant Manager with minimum salary of Rs 15,000. Praveen and Chetna conducted the interview of the students. The Ericsson India Pvt Ltd selected twenty one students of Electrical and Electronics Branch.
Nineteen candidates from Computer Sciences, Information Technology and Electronics branch got selected for Rooman Technologies. The resource person from Rooman technology was Gaurav who conducted the interviews of the candidates.
While in the drive of IISD, eighty candidates appeared in the interview and twenty six students were selected for training.
Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu, Arun Bangotra thanked all the resource persons from the various companies for the campus placement of the students and impressed upon the students to participate in the various placement drives with full enthusiasm and make full use of their professional and technical skills for employability to various organisations.
The Placement Cell of Government Polytechnic Jammu comprising of Hameed Malik, Rishab Gupta, Sakshi Kapai, Shabir Ahmed and Reenu Kotwal made all the arrangements for the smooth conduct of campus placement drive at Government Polytechnic Jammu.
