Camp organised to monitor relief distribution

KATHUA: A core group headed by Chairman District Legal Services Authority Vinod Chatterji Koul (Pr. District and Sessions Judge, Kathua) organised a camp at Temporary Rehabilitation Centre at Sheep Husbandry Hospital, Rajbagh in order to supervise the distribution of relief among flood victims in the district.
District Mobile Magistrate, SDM Hiranagar, Tehsildar Marheen, senior officers from revenue, CMO Kathua, Retainee Advocates, PLVs were also present alongwith the flood victim Families.
Chairman DLSA listened to problems being faced by the flood victims and issued directions to the officials of Health Department to provide adequate medical facilities to the flood victims and also check spread of epidemic diseases in the flood affected areas and rehabilitation centres.
Chairman DLSA with the help of Retained Advocates, PLVs under Legal Services Authority Act made operational a village Legal Care and Support Centre at the aforesaid Rehabilitation Centre in order to provide legal assistance to the flood victims and to ensure that the relief should be extended to the flood victims in toto.
Meanwhile, on the direction of the J and K State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Tehsil Majalta and Tehsil Legal Services Authority (TLSA) constituted a core group for Majalta Tehsil to ensure effective implementation of relief and rehabilitation measures for recent flood hit victims.
The core group was constituted under the chairmanship of Sudesh Sharma Chairman , TLSA Majalta along with Bar Member Advocate Amit Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Para Legal volunteers and Subash Sharma Chairman Pune Panchayat. Team visited different flood hit areas of village Katheel of Punee Panchayat in Majalta Tehsil and took stock of situation and loses caused to the aggrieved public during recent disaster.
