Buses running on K oil

The air pollution is not the problem of a particular country are a region only is rather it has taken whole world in its spate. Containing pollution, green house effect and finding out an alternate to the conventional fuel, responsible for pollution hazards, has become a concern of every responsible, conscious and human friendly nations of the world. The problem of pollution, its causes and finding its remedies occupy the topmost position on the international agenda for the treaties, submits and declarations. In order to contribute in the process of containing the pollution and the green house effect on the global level, majority of the developed and the developing countries are making shift from the use of conventional fossil fuel, coal, natural gas, nuclear material to the renewable sources of energy like bio- fuels, green hydrocarbons, bio diesel, chemically stored electricity i.e. batteries, hydrogen and non fossil fuel. The Kyoto protocol and European conference On Renewable Energy System 2016 (ECRES) have appealed to the international community and the engineers engaged in the field of renewable energy to devise the methods which can help containing Green House and the carbon dioxide emissions at global level. Now, when ten year old diesel vehicles are being sent off the roads in Delhi, the diesel and petrol rickshaws are being replaced by the E rickshaws almost in most of the cities, the interior hilly roads of Basohli Sub Division have become a paradise and a gold mine for the buses which have either lost road worthiness or have lived their prescribed age. Moreover, these worn out buses are run on kerosene oil which is abundantly available from the local dealers in the denominations of thousands of liters. K. oil, the poor man’s kitchen fuel is sold to the owners of the buses and to the steamers openly and with impunity under the nose of the local administration and in connivance with the administration and PDS employees. The poor consumers are denied their monthly quota of the K. oil and are compelled to return empty handed. Travelling in the worn out buses running on the kerosene oil are always prone to accident and which have taken many precious lives in the past. Having lost the efficiency these buses leave the passengers in the middle of their journeys during the odd hours. One feels giddiness, nausea, vomiting and headache while travelling by these busses emitting thick balls of smoke in the air. It is strange that travelling without the pollution certificate in the personal cars is punishable under Pollution Act but there is no such law which can punish the owners of such buses emitting balls of thick smoke and emitting pungent smell on the highway. It is beyond the comprehension of a common man why do the Traffic Police obstructs the private vehicles on the highways for pollution certificate while the vehicles not complying with the law escape scot-free for the reasons easily known to everybody.
