STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir DDC elections, Anurag Singh Thakur, on Friday stated, “The high voter turnout in polling signifies that people want development, they want change and we are confident that the BJP will win a decisive mandate in these DDC polls. The bumper voter turnout signals that the ‘lotus’ will bloom in J&K.”
Thakur said, “Throughout the campaign period we have focused on development and our track record under Prime Minister Narendra Modi shows we can deliver time bound results for socio-economic growth. Ever since the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, we have prepared and implemented a development oriented roadmap for J&K. We want an inclusive, participatory form of governance and we will encourage the youth to take up leadership roles in this process.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision, he wants the people of J&K to live a life free of terror, a life where tourism booms, where local trade and business flourish. The people shares this dream, now it’s time to turn it into a reality. Why can’t this region become a winter destination for tourism and economic activity? When tourists come, it will not only boost the hospitality sector like – hotels, restaurants, taxi services, local shops, but also create employment for the people. Saffron and Apples from J&K recently got geo-tagging and were showcased in the Gulf region, similarly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for ‘Vocal for Local’ other handicrafts and products will get exported at the global level. This will provide more income to everyone,” Thakur said.
He added, “Modi Government has set new benchmarks, every single promise, every social initiative and every single rupee has reached the people. The BJP has shown zero tolerance for corruption and zero tolerance for terrorists and their supporters. We have secured the land, protected lives and created livelihoods for every India. We are determined to turnaround J&K into a region which every parent, every family, every youth and every local businessman is proud to call their home by putting this region on the super highway of growth.”
Thakur questioned the Gupkar Gang by asking, “What is the contribution of the Abdullah-Mufti family in the last 70 years towards education, employment and infrastructure in the state? Gupkar Gang only has broken promises to offer from bygone era.”
Thakur said, “The era of undemocratic activities and divisiveness will end; the results on 22nd December will usher in an era of engagement, entrepreneurship and resurgence of enterprise in this heavenly region.”
