LEH: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari convened a meeting of all the district and sectoral officers of Leh district to take first hand report of their problems and to assess measures to be facilitated by Revenue Department to keep departmental works going without any hindrances. The meeting was attended by Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperative Chhering Dorjey, MLA Leh Nawang Rigzin Jora, MLA Nubra Deldan Namgial, CEC LAHDC Leh Dr. Sonam Dawa, Executive Councilors, ADC Leh Mozes Kunzang and all the district officers.
He assured to take up settlement work on top priority for Leh district for which he directed ADC, Leh to submit a list of villages and areas which do not figure in revenue records. He also directed ADC to submit cases of land acquisition and compensation for early disposal. As a deterrent to curb land grabbing, he directed that all allotment cases should be counter signed by Tehsildar before approval of Council and instructed to start a grievance cell headed by ADC, Leh. He said that the cases should be disposed off within 15 days.
Jora said, “For Ladakh we all rise above politics and maintain work culture with morality and ethics.” He urged the Minister to engage local staff for settlement works saying that outsourcing shall prove counterproductive.
On MLA Nubra’s demand, Bukhari assured posting of SDM for Nubra soon and assured early execution of settlement works in Tyakshi.
Dr. Dawa raised the issues of clearing liabilities under SDRF, land acquisition by army and air force, land encroachment by Himachal residents in Serchu area, etc. He urged the Minister to take up these cases strongly with centre. He also appealed to fill up all the vacant posts in Revenue department to ensure efficient working of the department.
