POONCH: A meeting of Dashnami Akhara Committee was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Mahamandleshwar 1008 Swami Vishawatmanand Ji in which the arrangements for the conduct of coming Budha Amarnath Yatra were reviewed. Member Legislative Council Yash Pal Sharma, President Dashnami Akhara Basant Ram, President Sanatan Dharam Sabha Satish Sassan, Romesh Bali, Sanjeev Kumar, Dev Dutt and Vijay Puri were also present in the meeting besides other members.
Mahamandleshwar deplored the damaged condition of Poonch – Mandi Road and said that no action has been taken by PWD to carry out repairs. He pointed out that the road from Chandak to Mandi is a single road and that too has not been repaired properly and maintained by the department adding that number of accidents have taken place after due to its worst condition.
He urged the administration to issue suitable instructions to the concerned department to carry out required repairs on this road before the commencement of Budha Amarnath Yatra. He also asked the administration to ensure that the required facilities like water supply, electric supply and sanitation also become available during the Yatra.
