Budget worth Rs 98 crore approved for current fiscal: CEC

KARGIL: After two days elaborate discussion the District Plan for Kargil for the year 2016-17 has been approved with an annual budget of around Rs. 98 crore during the Annual Council Meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan at Conference Hall Baroo.
National Conference, which is in opposition, boycotted the annual council meeting.
During the meeting it was decided to form a house committee to monitor the development works in all constituencies. The Chairman said that focus shall be laid on Education, Health, Agricul-ture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry, and directed all sectoral officers to pace up the developmental works keeping in view the remaining short working season.
Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan on the consensus of the House directed the Education Department to detach all attached teachers to their actual place of posting to ensure quality education.
The meeting also decided to shift DIET from Bagh-e-Khomenie to Chutuk and mulled over the need of a multipurpose hall for Degree College Kargil.
Executive Councilors and Councilors supporting the ruling Council, Vice Chairman J&KBOCWWB Aga Syed Baqir Razvi, MLA Kargil Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Gulzar Hussain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Kacho Turab Shah, SP Kargil Rahul Malik, and all district Officers were also present.
