JAMMU: Telecom major, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced reduction in roaming tariff by 75 per cent with effect from 1st May 2015 for its prepaid and post-paid mobile services. The decision has come in the wake of telecommunication tariff order issued by TRAI.
N.K Gupta, Director (CM), BSNL Board told “We have reduced our tariff by 40 per cent for incoming calls, 23 per cent for STD calls and 20 per cent for local calls, during roaming. The SMS tariff has been reduced by 75 per cent both for local and national SMS. Now local SMS will cost only 25 Paisa per SMS and a national SMS will be charged 38 paisa. For post-paid customers, local and national both, SMS will be charged at the rate of 25 paisa during roaming. He further said that our tariff is most competitive and transparent in the industry”.
He added “We have already announced free unlimited calling from BSNL landline to any landline or mobile of any operator across India during 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM with effect from 1st May 2015. We have the largest market share of landline connections in the country and therefore crores of BSNL customers would be benefited with this offer.”
