JAMMU: Taking initiative in the drive started by Border Security Force to minimise stress amongst wards of BSF personnel, BSF Senior Secondary School Jammu on Sunday organised a career counselling and stress management session, here.
Dr Abhishek Chowhan, Head of Department of Psychiatry at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu was the Chief Guest and the main speaker for the event.
The occasion was honoured by the presence of Ram Avtar DIG PSO Jammu Frontier, S.S Gahlot DIG Provisioning and Dr Kamal Kumar Comdt Medical.
Dr S.K Shukla, Principal of the School, highlighted the need to guide the young boys and girls in the right direction by both, parents as well as teachers and prevent them from going astray.
Ram Avtar compared the modern times with the yester years and the factors that lead to stress and drastic steps taken by the youth in the wrong direction.
Dr Chowhan laid great stress on the need to develop friendly and cordial relations between the parents and their children and emphasised minimising of peer pressure and a strict vigil against drug abuse.
This was followed by an interactive session with the speaker which saw an enthusiastic participation by the parents as well as the children. The vote of thanks was presented by Senior Teacher Sunita Grover.
