JAMMU: The BSF School Paloura girls claimed under-14 title in girls (under-14 and under-17) competition of Jammu District in two disciplines of handball and basketball, organised at Shastri Nagar Ground, here today. In the final, BSF Paloura defeated St. Peters School Karan Bagh 2-0. Earlier, in the semifinals, BSF Paloura got walkover Presentation Convent while St. Peters outplayed Springdales 3-0. However, the under-17 girls’ handball title went to St. Peter HSS BC Road after they beat Heritage HSS Sainik Colony 5-2. The Results: Under-14: Preliminary Round: BSF Paloura beat Rainbow HS Rampura 7-5; St. Peters HSS BC Road trounced BSF Paloura 12-02; Heritage HSS got walkover Presentation Convent. BASKETBALL: Meanwhile, preliminary round of competition was held in girls basketball event at MA Stadium, here. The Results: Under-14: KC Public School beat G.D. Goenka 2-0; Carmel Convent defeated APS Kalu Chak 6-0; APS Sunjwan beat Heritage School 5-2; SOS beat APS Miran Sahib 4-0. Under-17: APS Nagrota beat SOS 4-0; Carmel Convent beat APS Kalu Chak 9-5; KC International blanked St. Peter B.C Road 14-02. In the meantime, MHAC Nagbani won the boys under-17 basketball title beating JP World School 29-25.
