BSF Jammu wins inaugural tie in hockey

JAMMU: Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu won the inaugural match of the State Hockey Championship for V.K Kohli Trophy, organised by Hockey Jammu and Kashmir at KK Hakku Stadium, here on Sunday.
The BSF men blanked visiting side of district Samba 4-0. Dharminder Singh (2nd), Anish Tonwar (24th), Sanjay Singh (45th) and Anish Tonwar (59th) scored goals. The opening match was officiated by the technical panel comprising Jageet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Surinder Singh, Joginder Singh, Mohd Amin, Kulwant Singh and Charanjeet Singh (Tournament Director).
The competition was declared open by Treasurer of Hockey India, Rajinder Singh, who was Chief Guest. Others present included Harbans Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Sham Lal and M.S Reen.
FIXTURE: District Kathua shall take on district Anantnag at 11:30 AM while BSF Jammu shall meet Jammu Cantonment at 1:00 PM tomorrow.
