STATE TIMES NEWS
POONCH: Irked over PHE’s dilapidated infrastructure, the residents of Poonch City are moving from pillar to post requesting concerned authorities to pay heed to rectify the broken links of potable water pipelines passing underneath that have turned places into puddles and pools of muddy sludge.
According to a local shopkeeper, the worst hit areas include stretch outside BSNL’s telephone exchange, Poonch Bus Stand, etc. He said, “Faulty pipelines not only affect the sanitation conditions by the accumulation of dirty water but also considerably degrade the quality of water supply posing a risk of water borne diseases to end users. In this regard, people of the area made a fervent appeal to DDC Poonch to take immediate steps for bailing out people from this morass.
