Border villagers protest, block bridge for 3 hours

POONCH: The residents of border villages of Ajote, Gulpur, Deghwar and Sohela held a strong protest against the district administration, Power Development Department, Road and Building Department and PHE and Irrigation Department and blocked the Betar Bridge for three hours.
The protesters said that there was no power in these villages for the last four days, the condition of road from Betar Bridge to Deghwar is very bad and the canals have not been repaired as result there is no water during this sowing season. The protesters said that the district administration in spite of earlier assurance, has ignored to provide these facilities to the border villages. The traffic on the bridge remained closed from 8:00 to 11:00 AM.
A police team headed by SHO Poonch reached the spot and pacified the people that their grievances would be conveyed to the concerned departments. On the assurance of police the villagers lifted Dharna and said that in case immediate action is not taken in this direction, they would again block the bridge.
Prominent among those present in the protest include-Sunil Kumar Panch, Bhupinder Singh Panch, Surinder Kumar Panch, and President Magic Auto Union Nishu Sharma.
