RS PURA: The border residents of R S Pura on Tuesday raised the issue of poor management and availability of health care services including ambulances at RS Pura hospital especially in the wake of ongoing border tension.
Since Pak rangers have been pounding forward villages of RS Pura Sector on daily basis, the villagers living in this area has appealed to the state government and the police authorities to deploy ambulances and other bullet proof vehicles to evacuate critically injured civilians. On Tuesday when at least eight women were hit by splinters they had to face difficulty in shifting them to a nearby hospital. In the absence of any other local agency the local villagers stake their life in rescuing these critically injured civilians. The local residents complained that the State Government has been claiming that they have prepared a detailed plan to provide better medical/emergency services to the injured civilians but the same has been found lacking on ground zero. “The senior doctors are not available during the night when most of the injured are shifted to the hospital”, the local villagers complained while making a passionate appeal to the State Health Minister to prepare a fresh roster of doctors and including names of senior doctors for night shifts in these health institutions.
The local residents also demanded more ambulances to be made available to local officers for shifting seriously injured civilians.
Since more than 300 animals especially cattle are affected in the continuous exchange of firing the local farmers demanded senior veterinary doctors and trained manpower to handle the exigencies in order to save precious lives of milk producing animals.
