Board relaxes promotion norms for polytechnic students

JAMMU: State Board of Technical Education has allowed students having passed up to 60 per cent subjects of 1st and 2nd semester are eligible for 3rd semester and who have passed up to 75 per cent subjects are eligible for 5th semester.
This decision was taken at the 13thboard meeting of State Board of Technical Education which also allowed re-evaluation and re-checking as per the board norms.
Besides all the answer scripts have been evaluated and the marks obtained have been depicted in the result record. The result of Jammu and Kashmir divisions is available on the official web site. Any student marked absent in theory/practical subject can approach office for scrutinizing and clarification as per official record.
It is also informed that the November-December, 2014 examination has been postponed by one week.
The pass percentage for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th semester is 21.17, 24.12, 24.04, 28.31 and 33.97 percent respectively for Jammu division.
For Kashmir division the pass percentage for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th semester is 17.66, 22.70, 26.80, 25.45 and 42.22 percent respectively.
The students who want to see their answer scripts are asked to submit their requisite applications through their respective principals/institutes by or before 15th of December, 2014. Answer sheet shall be shown on 23rd, 24th and 26th of December, 2014. Separate notice in this regard has also been issued.
