BMW 5 Series launched in petrol variant

GURGAON: The new BMW 520i was launched on Saturday in India. With the launch of the BMW 520i, the BMW 5 Series sedan is now available across the country in both petrol and diesel variants.
The new BMW 520i is available at all BMW dealerships as a CBU (Completely built-up) unit from today onwards. The new BMW 520i has been introduced in an exclusive ‘Luxury Line’ design scheme that embodies the ultimate in elegance and aesthetics.
The all India ex-showroom price for petrol variant is BMW 520i Luxury Line Rs 54,00,000. Price prevailing at the time of invoicing will be applicable.
The new BMW 520i will be available in Alpine White as non-metallic paintwork. Black Sapphire and Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect are the available metallic paintworks. The standard Dakota leather upholstery is available in leather Dakota Cinnamon Brown, black, leather Dakota Veneto Private Limited beige exclusive stitching Veneto beige, black, leather Dakota oyster exclusive stitching black.
The latest generation BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder petrol engine features remarkably agile power delivery and excellent responsiveness, even at low engine speeds.
At the same time it is more efficient, with fewer emissions and offers better performance. The engine in the BMW 520i produces an output of 135 kW / 184 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm at 1,250 – 4,500 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / hr in 7.9 seconds to a top speed of 233 km / hr.
The eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission with Cruise Control performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine, enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency.
The new BMW 5 Series portfolio consists of two diesel engines (520d and 530d) which are locally produced in Chennai and a petrol engine (520i) available as CBU (Completely built-up) unit, release issued by BMW Group India said.
