BLSKS stages play ‘Save the Girl Child’

JAMMU: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sanasthan (BLSKS) staged 28th musical play ‘Save the Girl Child’ in collaboration with Ek Sath Rang Mandal and Unison Cultural Troupe as parts of its regular feature at 197 Durga Bhawan Janipur here.
Former Deputy Director, Health Department, Dr. Tara Singh Charak was the Chief Guest while former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, GoI, V.K Magotra, Dr. Anju Dogra from State Health Department, Vinod Dogra and Producer Director IPTA, Vijay Malla were the Guests of Honour.
The Chief Guest urged the artists and cultural organisations to contribute in enriching the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the footprints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the nation.
The programme commenced with welcome song presented by the artists of BLSKS and lighting of traditional lamp by the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour.
Welcoming the dignitaries, V.K Magotra, MD, BLSKS explained aims and objectives of the programme which have been assigned to the Sansthan for betterment of society.
Chairman BLSKS, M.L Dogra highlighted various aspects of play that was produced in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, GoI, and State Health Department for mass awareness.
A team of 40 artists and professionals associated with BLSKS undertook three months’ rigorous coaching to unveil the play which would be staged all over the State in the coming months, Dogra also disclosed that 150 such plays shall be staged in J and K State during 2014-15.
The artists participated in play were Rajni Gupta, Zulekha Farid, Parkiti Sharma, Harjinder Kour, Anu Pandita, Nitin Pandita, Rakshit Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Dhruv Pandit, Samarrth Gupta, Sanam Gupta, Vandana Gupta, Bodh Raj, Anantika Sharma, Shival Kumar, Rakesh Katoch, Ganshyam Yadav, Bhumika Chib, Abhi, Shiban, Archna, J.K Koul, K.K Joshi, Asha Zaroo, Kamli, Rajveer, Devam Jandiyal, Rahul Wanchoo, Mohammad Afroz, Neelam, Kamli, Kuldeep, Shiv Kumar, Suraj, Usha Raina, Asha Zaroo, M.C Kotwal, Vijay Malla and Hem Raj.
The programme was assisted by Master Deepak Kumar.
