Blood donation one of noblest acts: Zulfkar

JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Choudh-ary Zulfkar Ali on Friday said blood donation is a noble act which should be promoted by everyone at all levels.
The minister said this after inaugurating a blood donation camp at SMGS Hospital here organised on the eve of first death anniversary of PDP founder and former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Appreciating the philanthropic gesture, the minister said such noble initiatives should be promoted by everyone including, social, religious, and political organisations. He said such programmes bring necessary reforms in the society, where the menace of drugs and alcohol are spreading their tentacles.
The minister said blood is such a thing which is required by one and all, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or any political background, and it should be carried out by everyone, as the donation can save a precious human life.
The minister also called for raising awareness regarding blood donation, and stressed upon the health department to ensure that initiatives like frequent awareness camps should be held to dispel any misconception about blood donation.
The camp was organised by the PDP team led by Vikram Singh. It was also attended by Sandeep Jamwal, Prath Sharma, Jagveer Choudhary, Gokhul Sharma, Navider Sharma, Daman Basin, Choudhary Hussain Ali Wafa, Vinod, and Pawan.
Besides, the party’s female workers including Rajini Sharma, Sushma Saini and Vijya Kumari also participated in it.
