JAMMU: On the directions of DG Prisons J&K, H.K Lohia, all prisons in collaboration with Akhil Bhartiya Terapanth Yuvak Parishad , organised blood donations camp on Saturday, on the Birthday of Prime Minister, to support the Country Wide Mega Blood Donation Drive, to raise awareness about humanitarian issue of donation of blood .
Certificate and refreshment were provided to the donors , as a mark of our gratitude . 31 volunteers also donated blood at district Jail Amphalla Jammu. Similar camps were organized in Central Jail Jammu and District Jail Rajouri. The blood donation camps were open for volunteers from amongst the staff and citizens, and many volunteers donated blood. Proper protocol was followed to ensure safety. Certificates and refreshments were provided to the donors as a mark of our gratitude.
The Jawans of CRPF, JKP and Fire & Emergency Service also donated blood at District Jail Rajouri during the blood donation camp. Speaking on occasion,
Sanjeev Kumar, Superintendent District Jail Rajouri, said that donating blood is one of the most precious gifts for humanity and also appreciated the blood donors for their support and participation in making the blood donation camp Successful.
A special Para Medical Team, headed by Dr. Zulifqar Ahmed, from Department of Blood Transfusion Medicines SMGS Hospital Jammu along with Medical officers and Para medical staff of the Central Jail conducted the blood donation process. Certificates and refreshment was provided to the donors, as a gesture of gratitude. At Bhadarwah, Superintendent Jail Mushtaq Malla said that a total 30 jawans of Jail police and CRPF volunteered themselves to donated blood on first day of the nationwide campaign.
