BJP’s silence on Jammu issues shows meek surrender: Bhim

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: “The Kashmiri rulers never behaved so rude and authoritative as Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has been demonstrating by keeping the RSS converted BJP ministers in J and K on his lap. Mufti rejected delimitation of Assembly constituencies and BJP (RSS leadership from Delhi to Jammu) could not utter a single word. Mufti so strongly dumped the issue of legitimate and comprehensive resettlement of nearly 15 lakh Pakistani and PoK refugees living in most disgraceful conditions inside and on the skirts of the city of temples, Jammu Tawi. Mufti in one stroke said no to AIIMS for Jammu Pradesh and in the same breadth he had courage to say no to Jammu Tawi Lake in the presence of so-called Deputy Chief Minister, an RSS volunteer and a university teacher representing BJP. BJP could not even whisper against the dictates of the Kashmiri leader. Congress and National Conference have been working against the interest of the people of Jammu since 1947. Of course, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who remained employed by the Congress as its Pradesh President for 18 years before floating his present political outfit has been a natural ally of the Kashmiri rulers.”
This was the immediate reaction of NPP Supremo, Prof. Bhim Singh calling upon the new generations and the civil society to take a lesson from 64 years of serfdom, colonial rule and discrimination meted out to the people of Jammu Pradesh.
Prof. Bhim Singh reminded the RSS-PDP led government in J and K that the Lake Project was worked out by Maharaja Hari Singh in the thirties. He could not initiate because of financial reasons and then the fall of Second World War followed by anti-Dogra (Quit Kashmir) against the Dogras. NPP leader reminded the people and the civil society in the state that the Maharaja earned the wrath of Britishers when he introduced ‘State Subject’ in 1927 prohibiting transfer of immoveable property to any outsider (State Subject). He did not transfer Jammu Lake Project to a British company for the reason that the British may play foul by violating the Royal Decree (the State Subject) and taking over immoveable land from the poor Kashmiri farmers. It was the greatest gift of Maharaja Hari Singh to the petty farmers of J and K which has been protecting the ‘interest and the identity’ of the people of J and K, particularly the Kashmiri farmers. That identity is under a serious threat of PDP-BJP rulers. He appealed to the civil society and the intelligentsia, particularly the lawyers’ fraternity to take up the cause for preserving the identity of the Pahari-Dogra community as well as that of the Kashmiri and Ladakhi brethren.
