BJP’s ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ proving to be hollow slogan: Cong

JAMMU: PCC Chief G.A. Mir on Wednesday said that the BJP’s slogan of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ is a mere slogan and has no implementation in practical terms in the policies of Modi led Central Government.
Addressing a well attended meeting of Congress Minority Department here, Mir said that the two and half years of Modi Government had proved that its slogan of “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” is a hollow slogan as the minorities in the country are feeling neglected. “The Congress truly represents the basic idea of India, which is the basis of our strength. Any approach contrary to this idea of India would be against the interests of the country”, he added.
He said that the people fully understand the real face of BJP and its philosophy and they are now looking towards Congress because of its principles and philosophy of equality.
The meeting was organised by PCC Minority Department under the chairmanship of Jhangir Mir, Deputy Chairman Legislative Council.
Senior Vice President PCC Sham Lal Sharma lauded the role of the minority department to represent the voice of different sections of the society belonging to the minorities, who required the due attention of the Government at all levels for maintaining the secular and composite fabric of the nation. He said that heterogeneity of our society should not be the cause of our weakness but must be utilized as the strength.
Jhangir Mir, Chairman of PCC minority department highlighted the need to involve all sections of our society in nation building. Chief Spokesman Ravinder Sharma, Gurdarshan Singh Vice Chairman, Gajan Singh, Mian Nazir Ahmed, Michal Wazir, Baldev Singh Wazir, Dilbir Singh, Nassir Masih, Surjeet Singh, Gufoor Masih, Anayat Ali Shah, Kirtan Singh, Bupinder Singh, Parveen Singh and Davinder Singh were also present.
Meanwhile, G.A. Mir after conducting the tour of Rajouri District condemned unprovoked shelling by Pakistan army which is causing hardships to the civilian population near the LoC and Indo-Pak border. He was accompanied by Sham Lal Sharma, Mula Ram, Ravinder Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, Shabir Ahmed Khan and Manmohan Singh during the tour.
Congress leaders however, appealed to the people for remaining united and maintain communal harmony in order to defeat the designs of Pakistan and divisive forces. They urged the administration to ensure all sorts of basic needs to the people, who are being shifted to migrants camps.
